Default How best can one trade NY session during holidays in US

    Hello All!

I wanna know which strategy can one use to trade NY trading session during this coming holidays in US.

Some believe that it is not profitable to trade during the holidays especially the NY trading session.

Is trend trading a good option during the holidays?

I need expert opinion on this issue and the best strategies used by experts to profit during the said trading period.

I will love to read your reply.

    Thanks sm_win

Don't trade on holidays. However, because there are still other sessions (Asian and London). US based pairs may move a little bit, it will goes sideways overall. During this time, a channel strategy or a counter trend strategy may working fine.

but i think not at all..
we must look at the pair.
    Eg: USD/JPY.
If the US is on holiday,it didn't mean the chart will also taking a rest.
    then..it'll depend on Japan,right?
    this is my opinion...toothy9

i think the other country without the holiday still trades just that US market maybe stagnant. but hard to get a lot of profit if you trade on the holidays

Arrow Is Yuletide Holiday not universal to stop trade?

    Hi all,

Would this coming yuletide (Christmas) not affect all trading period and sessions as the holiday is universal for all countries?

If not which trading time will be least affected by the holiday.

    Thanks

As a general rule, the last week or two of the year is best spent not trading. The market can be thin and move in very unexpected ways. Unless you like the risk and are good at catching "wrong" breakouts, stay out and enjoy the time off.

If you really want trade that time badly, try trend break out strategy. If you right you'll happy all over night, if you wrong you'll crying for a week.(and maybe need a psychiatric)
