Default Pls what happened to EUR/USD today, I am supprised!

The EUR/USD opened at about 1.4309 and is making only about 40 pips maximum range. What does this mean on a monday?
Does this happen regularly in forex?
I really need help because I made losses today because of anticipation, I have not experienced such a phenomenom.
Will really appreciate an experienced traders comment

    Hello vwonder

This could be caused by the bank holiday in the USA. USD/CHF has hardly moved also.

Also a holiday in Canada but never seen what the results have been like with both pair.

Update: USD/CAD 17 pips up 28 down since both markets opened. Or would have opened

    USD/CHF 10 pips up 9 down

Check out for the support at 1.4000 on the weekly chart. Since the downtrend still continues and fundamentals are good for the US with the economy recovering I advice anyone to go short on this pair.
