Gold is quite expensive at the moment. I suggest trying on demo before trading it live. It can take your money very quickly.

It's just like any other trade..

There is no special amount needed for gold..I like trading gold and started demo trading with 3K and live trading with $6! (micro account denominated in cents)..I have since added more to my account.

The spread is wider than the other currencies/commodities though..

coz they backed with oz gold real.

start with lowest lot 0.01 for the first time then you can increase lot size
but ofcource you will need higher margine for gold
