Question about Offline (when MT is closed) trading

Hi!

I hope I will get an answer by Friday because I will be out of town that day and I need to know something.

I am wondering, if I set for example two trades with a trailing stop, and an expiry date at the same day 20:00, and I close my MetaTrader platform after, will those trades still trail stop and expire at the desired time?

I hope someone can answer.

Hi Psycho79

The expiry will still be honoured as that is held serverside. However the trailing stop is executed clientside, by MT4 so if your MT4 is not logged in and running, the trailing stop will not run.

You mean;

Scenario 1:
Open trade. set trailing lost. Close MT4, close pc.
question: Will the trailing lost still running?

Scenario 2:
Set buy stop order, set trailing lost. Close MT4, close pc.
question: A few hours later, ,my trade open when the price hit my buy order. Will the trailing lost also running?

The trailing stop is a feature of MT4. If MT4 is not running, neither is the trailing stop.
