How to install script correctly?

Hello all, im just DL Close All trade script and paste it in FXOpen\experts\scripts but when i used it in terminal why there are error message??? Anyone know how to fix this problem??

Open your "MetaEditor" tab on the platform, click on "Scripts" folder inside the MetaEditor, then the file that is giving you trouble.
This will open the file in the window. just above it you'll see a "Compile" tab, click on it and see if you get a warning in the "Desciption" box. If it shows 0 error(s), 0 warning(s) , the script is OK. But something tell me your script is missing part of the code. After doing all above and you can't fix the code, upload it here and I'll fix it for you.

After doing like what u said above i think the script is Ok because it shown 0 error(s), 0 warning(s) in the description box. N the script is still not working, so i give up haha must give it to the master here to fix it CloseAll.rar.

The script is working ok, once I placed it on my AUD/USD chart it closed by Sell pending order.

When you place the script on your chart, do you remember to click the "Allow live trading" box on the "Common" window?

I'll check every setting on the script to make sure its OK, and update the info here.


Can tell you "Default= 0" setting works.
option "1" will close open orders but not pending orders OK.
OPTION "2" will close pending orders but not open orders OK.
Update: Closes both Buy & Sell on "Default" settings. You do have to set "Allow live trading" first.

option "3" closed my EA on "magicnumber" but also sell order, not recommented for someone who uses both EA and manual trades. Best avoid this script while using EA until more testing is done.


option "4" close by "command" will close all orders, best to avoid this setting also.


option "5" close in "profit" might take awhile as testing the above has put my balance/equity into the red, can tell you it didn't close the sell order.

More updates later if the AUD/USD continues downward.

Quick guide to setting up EA/Scripts

Download your Expert Advisor file, the file is a MetaQuotes Language file (.mql4) it will be in full format. Copy or drag your .mql4 into the "Experts" folder of your MetaTrader. ( i.e. C:\Program Files\MetaTrader Folder\experts or C:\Program Files\MetaTrader Folder\scripts)

How to run the EA.

1. Open your MetaTrader4 Platform.
2. Check the "Navigator" pane on the left side of your MT4.
3. Click on the "[+]" button in front of "Expert Advisor" - your installed EA should appear there.
4. Drag and Drop it into a selected Chart window.

Once this happens a new window will open and one of the first things you’ll see will be a “Common” tab, it is important to click on the “Allow live trading” if this is done correctly a green tick symbol will appear. Do not click on the “OK” button until you click on the “inputs” tab, you can adjust your values and setting from within this window. Once you have completed all or any chances in this window then click on the “OK” to complete your programs setup. If all is working you should now see a smiley face top right of chart. If for any reason your Expert Advisor’s face looks sad, go into your Tools > Options > Expert Advisors tab and place a green tick symbol on all but the “Ask manual confirmation" box. I prefer to do is at the start of setup as it saves any hassle if a fault occurs while I’m away from the platform.

Oh i think the script doesn't work on demo acc. Before i tested it on demo acc (already click “Allow live trading”) and it not working, but after try it on live acc it can. I dunno if script is an EA, think it a command lolz.

Oh yea ilearn2t how to used the option u mention above?? When i drag the script it just import me to buy or sell tab...

You can change the settings in the input window at setup (drag & place) on chart, but if it does what you want best left alone.

Ps: option "5" close in profit works, but option "6" Close orders in loss, did close my 2 lot size the minute it was placed on the chart and order still in profit.

Personally I'd just use it for closing all orders (the "default" settings)

Yes, you can learn to install scripts in the folder MetaTrader4. Then I added a hotkey for the execution of scripts. See navigator, then right-click the mouse on the list of scripts. There is a choice set hotkey, then you can set your keys to execute scripts instantly. Example for Buy script with CTRL+B, etc.

Indeed, that was all related with your own sciprt error. If you test using metaeditor and there are no mistake, you can use your script easily. If you still not too familiar with how to edit a script, you can try to search for another script that may have same fucntion.

Yes, to use scripts in your terminal you should check "Allow live trading" in the expert adivsors options
(Tools menu).
