MT4 Platform and Bandwidth Usage

A very large capacity, 8GB. I think it is enough to tradig all day with these quotas. I just use a 3G cellular connection with unlimited capacity. MetaTrader4 FXOpen platform connection is very smooth and stable.

You do keep your trading connection backup very updated mate. Its nice to see that you take you trading that damn serious. I also have an internet connection that has a sufficient speed for doing smooth trading.

I use two traveling broadbands from two different providers since one would normally have better connectivity in some areas....and monthly, they cost me usd32 EACH

Hmmm, I better head on to these two service providers to find out what else they have to offer.

hello mr. rahman you can use mobile satelite broadband receiver. in indonesia with cost $90 or more. but you must buy satelite phone by your self. speed fix 1:1 64Kbps up and down without quota limitation or you can use cdma operator

in Indonesian tri with $ 5 we can fairly quota, about 1GB more. I think that's enough to play for 1 month. as long as it is only used for browsing purposes only ....

i think internet bandwith usage for mt4 is very litle, in indonesia i just use data usage 500mb / mont enough for my mt4 allways online with my PDA phone.

Why only the last hour bandwidth?
How can I have a better view on internet usage per hour, day, week, month?
Maybe in integrating a graphical view of vnStat?

Mt4 only use small bandwidth to work. I'm also using 500mb data package and after one month, I never need to spend another additional money to buy more bandwidth. Very light application to run and connect to internet.

My usage of month maybe around 2 GB,so i am subscriber with monthly usage 2 GB with cost around 10$ amonth,but if we only using for trading,maybe 1 GB is enough for a month,although i 've should pay internet connection,but very grateful because cost still recover from result in online business

This is not related with how much money we need to pay internet connection. Each country must have their own price for their internet connectivity. If we use only for MT4 500mb already enough for us. But if we use it for browsing, that will be different.

Sorry,i am out the threat.,and i am relaized,talk about nt4 platform and usage,i think also depending with indicator that used,because i ever use complicated indicator and make platform work slowly,but also if our computer performance is not good,it is also can affect platform being not responding

Ye, based on my experience, to loading to much indicator and lot of custom indicator, really affect performance of your MT4. Even if you have good internet connection. So if you want use many indi, you must have a good computer too so your MT4 performance rise.

Some good advice here already; mainly either try to get an "unlimited" plan, but many 3g providers have fair use caps between 2-10Gb, or limit the amount of symbols in Market Watch window to only those you trade with. You should be able to keep consumption to under a few hundred MB if you are only watching 2-3 pairs, even if you leave the computer on all the time (like for automated trading or indicators).

I have a friend trader in Thailand who has a 3GB cap and he always goes over every month. But he has 6-12 terminals going at a time tracking multiple currency pairs. One tip he said that may help. Once you reach your fair use cap, try switching aircard settings to EDGE (2G) only. He found a more stable connection that way vs using throttled 3G connection.

using seven MT4 is not a good idea both for your limited bandwidth and your PC. first of all, working with 7 MT4 at a time makes huge pressure in your processor which may damage it and secondly 7 sever open at a time means you are open 7 different downloading parameters which are never be easy to operate at a same time for your PC. I think you can understand what i am telling about?

So far i am never open 7 platform in one time,i think if open 7 platform,it will make our computer necessary more disk space to running all platform,and maybe it will make computer become down performance and worse performacne is make pc not responding

I'm not sure what type of computers you are using, but a basic dual core laptop or even pentium 4 laptop can handle several mt4 terminals at once. Not sure how many indicators you have on at once. But dual core is better if you can manage it. I would be using either windows XP or windows 7. With 2GB ram, you should be fine. I assume that you use your laptop primarily for trading.

You guys talk as if you have Pentium III laptop. I leave my laptops on 24/7 and they last for years at a time.
