I guess the best indicator is Stochastic...It able to measure how strong/weak trend in that time... I usually use fast stocshastic & combine with slow stochastic.
The other indicator to combine is news release, I use Plot_News (FF Calc). It can also predict whether market might move fast.

My favorite indicator is the macd. I use it very much to detect market reversal.
But as they say, you cannot just rely on one indicator. I also use principle of
support and resistance with pivot point, and i try to apply elliott wave theory.

Hello all
My best indicator is my own custom build "ilearn2t" it gives my a guide to best set/place my orders over a given time frame. It uses a maths calculation without the help of Technical indicators added to its functions.
Any member who has viewed my 2nd wallpaper "image" entry in the prize contest on this forum might just have spotted it in the separate_window section in the chart on my fxopen platform.

Hi ilearn2t,
Are you familiar with "Genetic Builder" for an EA??
I have mentioned time & again that I don't use nor trust EA with my trades, but from what I have gathered on a post on "Genetic Builder Intensive Review by Pharaoh" over at the FPA site, it holds some possibility for a good EA.

I agree that Support-Ressitance is most important measurement in forex.
Yesterday, I lost about 15% because I disobey my own rule about pivot.
Last time I see all Stochastic showing correct ideal form to buy GBPUSD, but I forget to look R/S...The real condition is that bullish trend is not entering yet, the result is price keep going down.
This give me important lesson about obeying R/S and also stochastic.
just for info, I use indikator 'TzPivots'.... if someone needed, it can easily find and download in google.

Hello widhie75
Firstly, sorry about your lose.
I've never used "pivot" indicators before, but I've tried out a few while programming my own indicators and they do seem to help traders like yourself find a system to work with, in information and data they supply is a traders dream.
Good luck in the future with your system.
Hello RahmanSL
EA's can be great for finding a starting point for placing orders, but as I've said before, only if you know whats inside the functions, and you control it. As for the "Genetic Builder" once I saw this part "All you have to do is to choose indicators". that ended that, I've builld more EA's with custom indicators than I care to remember, my new programs is "Maths" build EA's.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

We can never emphasize enough on the importance of Support and Resistance in trading.
For an easy to use system, It can be combined with an oscilliator insicator as Stochastic or RSI to see if it has a good probability of holding or a brakeout may happen at these levels.

MA or EMA s are good but sometimes they gives false entry signal, as we entered after a few min later it may show you that the cross you saw it's vanished and nothing happen, you just took enter into the previous continuation of previous cross signal. So when to use ema s its suggested always use some one or 2 other indicator to confirm your trade that you are at max in favor of this current market situation.

and one more thing forgot to say : macd also a lagging indicator like ma or ema, it also causes some fake indication. so when you using macd try to use nonlag of that at least i think so.
but afterall its your system you you know how to perform best

There ""William Trade"" may be our well known "Williams' Percent Range'
and if my assumption becomes true, then you can easily find that in your default mt4 indicator's list located at the bottom in that list..

I am using the MA crosses for confirmation of PA movements.

Hello Q-Funds
When you mention PA movements, do you refer to "Price Action" trading, or is it something far more simple?
Thanks in advance.

Bullish
Yes, PA is price action, ilearn2t.
I usually would like to use EA to close trade, not open one. Maybe it's just me.
